Dear Friends and Family,
Life at college, though plagued with late night paper writing and early morning classes, is going well. All of my classes I am doing well in and suspect that this semester will be just as good as last. Most of my teachers are amazing, except for my English professor whom I do not like all that much. He tends to over-analyze literature and be redundant. However, he is a fairly good professor and challenges all of his students.
Many of you know that I am planning on auditioning for ministry teams here at Liberty. If I get through both rounds of auditions, I get put into a team and also get a full-ride scholarship for the 2008-2009 school year. This would be a great way to use my talents to be a blessing as well as receive a blessing from the school. However, I don’t know whether I am doing this for the scholarship or to glorify God. I really don’t want to have selfish motives, but this money would be a great help. I really want to use my talents in order to minister to others. “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart.” Proverbs 21:2 God wants my motives to be pure and I want my motives to be pure, but are they? Just the fact that I want to please God and truly minister to others in this way might mean that my heart is indeed in the “right place.” But I figured that you all could pray not that I “pass” the audition process but rather that my heart be changed and that Christ is shown through me in all I do. My audition may be changed from Monday the 25th to Thursday the 28th. As it gets closer, I will let you know the exact date and time.
Have a great Monday and a wonderful rest of the week!
